The March meeting of the CWA will take place on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at 6 pm at the Penn State Cooperative Extension office at Sunnyview Home. Lots of topics to be covered including a clean-up, riparian buffer plantings, Glade Run catfish day, and the restoration projects for this summer.
The CWA partnered with the Butler Area School District to plant 150 live stakes of native tree and shrub species at the Thorn Creek Habitat Improvement Project. Students from the Butler Intermediate High School researched the tree species for plantings, and installed them as part of the Fisheries Science course at school.
It looks like the project survived the recently flooding well, with some tree movement in between devices. As the water receded, we’ll check for any needed repairs.
