Ongoing/Upcoming Events

bulletRegional environmental cleanup progress status is available at http:www.butlerwebs.com/petroleumvalley/water.htm.  Of particular interest to Petrolia Valley residents for the numerous cleanup actions ongoing.
bulletWater quality monitoring - ongoing monthly.  Contact the webmaster. (GeoBarbara554@cs.com) if you are interested in participating.  For results, see the Water Quality Monitoring page of this website (menu at left). Live input for members in progress.
bulletMacroinvertebrate surveys - assessing the health of the watershed by surveying (collecting, counting and identifying) the aquatic (lives in water) macroinvertebrate (think no backbone (fish need not apply as they have backbones) and large enough to see) population. These are fun - basically take a bucket of creek water and pull out the bugs and bug larvae just to say HI! while you identify and count them.  These surveys give us a measure of how healthy the watershed is in terms of the diversity of aquatic life.
